An evening at God’s

Based on Stephen King’s play, ‘An Evening at God’s.

We see a small sphere As we zoom in, the sphere is the Earth. We see part of the continents. The Earth and the Moon are shown to us in all their splendor. The Earth, in its journey, passes between a figure that we don't see completely and an old television. The mysterious figure is God, who is trying to watch television. God cranes his neck to watch TV through the screen while the earth continues to block his view. Laughter on TV, God laughs too, he's having a beer There's a knock at the door. God: Come in! It's open. Enter Saint Peter. God: Peter! I thought you were on vacation. Saint Peter: I'm leaving in an hour and a half, but I thought I'd bring you the papers for you to sign. And how are you, God? God: Better. Now I know what it's like to eat those hot peppers. They make me breathe fire. Did you bring the letters from the transmissions in Hell? Saint Peter takes some papers out of his briefcase. Saint Peter: Yes, finally. Thank God. If you'll excuse the pun. God looks at the papers, Saint Peter watches the earth spin around the room. Saint Peter smiling: So the Earth is still there, huh? After all these years. God: Yes, the cleaning lady is the most forgetful bitch in the universe. Laughter on television God tries to watch TV but the earth blocks his view Angry God: Damn it! Was that Alan Alda? Saint Peter: It may have been, sir; I didn't actually see him. God looks very angry at the earth Earth plan God destroys the earth with his hands! BRAMMM!! The ground on the floor, destroyed. God shakes the dust from his hands. Peter looks sadly at the ruined earth. God: Good. I've been wanting to do this for quite some time. Now I can watch television in peace. Saint Peter: Umm... I'm afraid that was Alan Alda's world, GOD. God: Really? (giggles on TV) Robin Williams! I LOVE Robin Williams! God: (giggles on TV) Robin Williams! I LOVE Robin Williams! Saint Peter: I believe Alda and Williams were there when... well... when you pronounced the Last Judgment, sir. Oh, no problem: I have all the videos. Want a beer? Saint Peter opens his beer. Saint Peter: I really liked him, GOD; the Earth, I mean. God: It wasn't so bad, but there are more of those out there. And now... let's drink to your vacation! God: Look! It's Richard Pryor! That guy is killing me! God: Although I imagine there was also... Saint Peter: That's right, sir. God: Shit. Maybe it would be better if I stopped drinking. God: Although it was going to end that way anyway. Saint Peter: That's right, Lord. God: My son returned, didn't he? Saint Peter: Yes, sir, it's been some time. God: Okay. Then everything's perfect.
